Winners Announced for Merchiston’s ‘Cover Design Competition’

We are delighted to announce that the winner of Merchiston Publishing’s ‘Cover Design Competition’ is Ben Lewis, P5, from Stockbridge Primary School.

Acclaimed illustrator Iain McIntosh judged the competition and described Ben’s design as “A lovely cover with not a dull area in the whole picture. Beautifully designed and crafted hand-lettering (and crosses!). Full of detail and interest which has been very sensitively drawn.”

Merchiston Publishing are launching the first play script of Treasure Island written for primary schools. The book will be distributed freely among local primary schools and a launch party to celebrate will set sail on June 8th at Craighouse Campus.

  1. Well done everyone! This is a fantastically imaginative way to celebrate World Book Day! Thanks to Iain McIntosh for taking the time to judge this competition – especially given the high quality of the entries. Thanks to everyone for entering and huge congratulations to Ben for creating such a winning cover design! I really look forward to seeing the finished book.
